Startup Weekend is an intense 54 hour event which focuses on building a web, software or mobile application which could form the basis of a credible business over the course of a weekend. The weekend brings together people with different skillsets - primarily developers, (graphic) designers and business people - to build applications, prototypes and develop a commercial case around them.

The winners of Startup Weekend Amsterdam 2011 are:

Most Innovative: SNTMNT – a tool predicting stock trends of 25 AEX funds based on online sentiments

Quickest to make a million: ShuffleWear – a subscription service for exclusive and surprising monthly underwear and socks

Most impressive overall: Goddess Alert – an app for men to better cater to the needs of the women in their lives

In addition, the prize for the best pitch went to Tip ‘n’ Trip - a personal travel map that helps you and your friends keep track of cool places to visit.

You might have seen me walking around with my camera during Startup Weekend. So let me introduce myself! I am Eline Bodbijl and I have a filmproduction company called Eline Wonders. My company is young since I (just only a year ago) I decided that I wanted to be a filmmaker after working in healthcare for 9 years. It was quite a career change but after a year of hard work my first company was a fact! I make commercials, corperate films and documentaries. And when I really love a concept or a event I offer my services for free. Like on Startup Weekend, wich is one of the best events I came across for a while! I loved seeing you all work so hard on youre beautiful ideas. It was a great inspiration! Thank you all!
